About The RealReal

The RealReal is a US luxury consignment marketplace founded in 2011. It sells pre-owned fashion, jewelry, watches, art and home furnishings through its website and stores. Its teams authenticate, price and photograph goods before they go on sale.

The RealReal is hiring an Associate Luxury Resale Advisor to acquire luxury consignments, build and reactivate consignor relationships, and deliver high-touch in-home consultations. The role spends more than 70% of its time in the field, requires travel above 70% within the designated market, and carries a 40-hour workweek with occasional off-hours; expected annual base salary is $60,000–$70,000, with uncapped commission.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Engage new, inactive, and prospective clients through daily outreach and in-home appointments to drive consignment activity.
  • Develop and execute networking and outreach strategies to attract new consignors, reactivate lapsed relationships, and generate repeat business.
  • Build a sales pipeline by sourcing leads, reactivating lapsed consignors, and converting marketing-qualified leads into active consignors; manage pipeline activity and opportunities in Salesforce and other tools.
  • Meet or exceed monthly quotas by driving new business, consignor reactivation, and key performance metrics that contribute to revenue growth.
  • Deliver a high-touch, white-glove experience throughout the consignment process, fostering client satisfaction, trust, long-term engagement, and relationships beyond transactional service.
  • Present and review consignment contracts, establish pricing expectations using internal tools and luxury market expertise, and guide clients through the process.
  • Partner with Retail teams to support sales growth and collaborate with Consignor Relations to address and resolve client concerns.
  • Acquire luxury consignment items and coordinate their pickup and shipment to The RealReal’s e-commerce centers.
  • Spend more than 70% of working time in the field, cultivating client relationships and securing consigned items through personalized in-home appointments.
  • Maintain disciplined pipeline management across new business, reactivation, and follow-up; sustain outreach volume and improve lead-to-consignment conversion.
  • Build early momentum in new consignor acquisition, account reactivation, and consignment value contribution.
  • Remain motivated through rejection, overcome objections, and turn refusals into future opportunities.
  • Generate opportunities through prospecting, networking, and effective use of inbound leads.
  • Demonstrate ownership, coachability, disciplined execution, and trust-based client relationships.
  • Balance speed and quality by advancing opportunities efficiently while delivering a high-touch client experience.
  • Follow through reliably, communicate dependably, and remain accountable to commitments.

Qualifications

  • Technologically proficient, with comfort using CRM systems such as Salesforce and digital tools to manage pipeline and performance.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who adapts quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Motivated by ownership, growth, and impact, with the drive to build a book of business and continuously improve performance.
  • Results-oriented and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
  • Exceptional ability to build rapport, earn trust, and communicate effectively about high-value goods and services with discerning clientele.
  • Strong relationship-building, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Customer-focused, with a passion for luxury, fashion, and sustainability.
  • Willing and able to travel more than 70% within the designated market.
  • Able to commit to a 40-hour workweek with occasional off-hours.
  • Must reside in the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver’s license required except in the Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Chicago markets; must maintain compliant insurance and driving record.
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
