Role & Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, coordinates, and manages personnel and activities to ensure efficient receiving, storage, and shipping of product in designated distribution center departments.
• Manages labor and physical product to maintain continuous goods flow and meet daily distribution requirements in an automated environment.
• Trains, supports, directs, and guides subordinate personnel; develops their job skills and evaluates and documents individual performance.
• Communicates effectively and builds stakeholder partnerships to promote collaboration and achieve operational goals.
• Coordinates with other departments to ensure product moves through the facility on time, accurately, and without damage.
• Maintains inventory control and accurate physical inventory accountability and reporting within the assigned area.
• Promotes efficient, economical use of materials, improves methods, and eliminates wasteful practices within the department.
• Ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
• Maintains alertness to identify and address potential issues proactively.
• Provides coverage and support for colleagues in other departments.
• Sets departmental and shift work priorities based on information from the operations manager.
• Develops contingency plans for work volume during abnormal operating circumstances.
• Uses appropriate managerial techniques to motivate associate staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred, with 2–4 years of distribution or supervisory experience; alternatively, 7–10 years of proven leadership experience in a distribution environment preferred.
• Knowledge of WMS (AS400/Manhattan), PKMS, MHE, RF, and host systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with safety standards and best practices in warehouse operations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Skills

Experience

2–4 years of distribution or supervisory experience, or 7–10 years of proven leadership experience in a distribution environment; the latter is preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred.
