Role & Responsibilities

• Serve an assigned dining-area section in a professional and gracious manner.
• Use knowledge of food preparation and culinary terminology to provide customers with detailed menu information.
• Apply knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and their technical and service procedures.
• Interact graciously with the public while handling multiple duties simultaneously.
• Participate in daily pre-shift meetings.
• Follow established accounting procedures for transactions, including authorized payment methods, and maintain knowledge of the POS system.
• Complete assigned pre-shift, post-shift, daily, and weekly duties.
• Perform duties that may involve lifting tables, chairs, highchairs, and other objects.
• Clean and maintain the restaurant and workstation.
• Maintain hygiene standards, including clean, pressed uniform clothing and shoes, and clean, professionally styled hair and nails to reduce food-contamination risks.
• Follow scheduling procedures: clock in before and out after each scheduled shift, follow procedures for schedule and shift changes, take and record applicable lunch breaks, and coordinate holidays, vacation, and other time off with management in consideration of restaurant needs.

Qualifications

• Experience serving food and beverages and following proper table-service guidelines.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Motivated and results-driven.
• Thorough knowledge of service sequence and proper placement of table settings, food, and beverages according to kitchen tickets and the guidebook.
• Thorough knowledge of food preparation and culinary terminology.
• Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties simultaneously.
• Exceptional customer-service and problem-solving skills.
• A “win together” mentality.
• Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift and carry 35 pounds.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Skills

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred.
