Role & Responsibilities

• Serve an assigned dining-area section in a professional and gracious manner.
• Use detailed knowledge of food preparation and culinary terminology to explain menu items to customers.
• Apply knowledge of wine, beer and spirits, including technical and service procedures.
• Interact graciously with the public while handling multiple duties simultaneously.
• Participate in daily pre-shift meetings.
• Follow established accounting procedures for transactions, including authorized payment methods, and maintain knowledge of the POS system.
• Complete pre-shift, post-shift, daily and weekly duties assigned by the supervisor.
• Perform duties that may require lifting items such as tables, chairs and highchairs.
• Clean and maintain the restaurant and workstation.
• Maintain the highest hygiene standards, including a clean, pressed uniform and clothing and shoes, and clean, professionally styled hair and nails kept to avoid food-contamination risks.
• Exercise integrity with scheduling, clock in before and out after every scheduled shift, and follow established procedures for schedule and shift changes.
• Take appropriate lunch breaks when applicable and record them accordingly.
• Coordinate holidays, vacation and other time off with management while considering the restaurant's needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience serving food and beverages and following proper table-service guidelines.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Motivated and results-driven.
• Thorough knowledge of order of service and proper placement of table settings, including china, glassware and flatware, as well as food and beverages according to the kitchen ticket and guidebook.
• Thorough knowledge of food preparation and culinary terminology.
• Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties simultaneously.
• Exceptional customer-service and problem-solving skills.
• A “win together” mentality.
• Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift and carry 35 pounds.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
