About Dorchester Collection

The Cook prepares and cooks food, supports every kitchen station and culinary outlet, maintains clean workstations, and responds to guest dietary needs and special requests. The role also supports kitchen colleagues, reports and helps correct service imperfections, and coordinates with hotel departments. Permanent, full-time position at The Beverly Hills Hotel.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing; wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Set up, clean, and break down workstations; wash and disinfect kitchen areas, including tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
- Prepare and cook food to deliver an excellent guest experience.
- Assist all culinary outlets as needed and work successfully at every kitchen station.
- Partner with the Supervisor to meet daily challenges, maintain an efficient workflow and good time management, and follow kitchen standard operating procedures, including item counts.
- Guide Cook 2, Cook 3, and Cook 4 colleagues in preparation and organization.
- Respond to guest dietary and allergy restrictions, suggest new food offerings and revenue-driving ideas, and prepare special dishes for occasions such as birthdays and weddings.
- Report imperfections and blemishes and work with other positions to correct them.
- Communicate with other departments and the extended hotel team to maintain alignment.

- Communicate comfortably in English, the primary language used at the hotel.

- Have the stamina to lift, carry, push, and pull moderate loads of up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Be able to work flexible schedules and shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
