Hotel Bel-Air, part of Dorchester Collection, is hiring a Human Resources Manager in Training for a 12-month program focused on Learning & Development, HR operations, talent acquisition, onboarding and employee engagement. The role includes training delivery and California compliance sessions, and pays $29.83 per hour.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the People & Culture department’s structure, roles and responsibilities, with an intensive focus on Learning & Development (L&D).
  • Learn operating standards, the collection’s mission and values, and the hotel’s Pledge; present and explain policies covering attendance, grooming, benefits and conduct clearly.
  • Cultivate a luxury service culture through continuous education and learn to navigate HRIS platforms, including Talent-Soft, DC Legends, LEX and Paycom, while gaining insight into ESG initiatives and sustainability goals.
  • Promote communication for L&D initiatives and People & Culture events through bulletin boards, corporate emails and daily operational line-ups, ensuring training alignment across the hotel team.
  • Learn to manage, supervise and deliver team development; partner with and shadow the Learning & Development Manager, deliver Dorchester training programs and mandatory California compliance sessions, and design and lead live training modules.
  • Gain exposure to the full talent acquisition cycle by shadowing candidate screenings and interviews following skills-based recruitment training, and oversee new-hire onboarding.
  • Document and observe employee relations matters to understand how continuous training can prevent operational challenges.
  • Learn to handle employee engagement and help plan, organize and deliver employee events that support morale, educational goals and team culture.
  • Bring the organization’s values of Passion, Personality, Respect, Working Together and Creativity to life.

Qualifications

  • A completed degree in hospitality, human resources, sales and marketing, food and beverage, or business administration within one year of the program.
  • Comfortable communicating in English, the primary language used at the hotel.
