The Banquet Server at Hotel Bel-Air serves food and beverages at functions, prepares tables and buffet displays, fulfils guest requests, and reports service-area imperfections. This on-call, seasonal role pays $25 per hour and requires a variable schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Role & Responsibilities
- Serve food and beverages at functions according to the standards set by the B.E.O. and Hotel Bel-Air.
- Set tables, side stands and back-of-house areas for functions, and prepare food displays or buffets.
- Anticipate guest needs and fulfil requests involving dietary restrictions, drink preferences, timing requirements and special occasions.
- Report hotel imperfections and blemishes and work with other teams to correct them.
- Work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, to meet hotel business demands.
Qualifications
- Comfortably communicate in English, the primary language used at the hotel.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service ethic.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules, B.E.O. operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals preferred.
- Ability to talk, hear, walk and stand for up to 8 hours; bend, stoop and crouch; use hand, finger and wrist dexterity; and regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds. Close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required.
