Must-know Vacheron Constantin Facts

All applicants ought to know these basics about Vacheron Constantin before applying or interviewing for any role.

Founded in Geneva in 1755, Vacheron Constantin is one of the world’s oldest continuously operating watchmakers, giving employees the rare chance to work inside nearly three centuries of uninterrupted horological history.
Since 1996, the maison has been part of Richemont, which can make careers there especially appealing for candidates interested in mobility across high-end watch and jewelry brands such as Cartier and Jaeger LeCoultre.
The brand is renowned for ultra-high-complication watchmaking and hand-finishing, so many roles are closely tied to craftsmanship, patience, and exacting quality standards rather than pure volume production.
Its emblem, the Maltese cross, reflects a historical movement component used to regulate mainspring torque, underscoring how deeply the company’s identity is tied to technical watchmaking culture.
Vacheron Constantin’s workshops balance heritage métiers with modern innovation, meaning careers can span traditional decoration, movement assembly, product development, and client-facing storytelling around exceptional pieces.
The maison’s reputation sits in the same rarefied conversation as houses like Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, and Breguet, which is a strong signal for job seekers seeking prestige and long-term credibility in fine watchmaking.
