Must-know Kendo Facts

All applicants ought to know these basics about Kendo before applying or interviewing for any role.

Kendo was founded in 2010 as the brand incubator behind some of today’s most culturally influential beauty labels, giving employees rare exposure to both creative brand-building and operational scale.
Although it operates with an entrepreneurial studio mindset, Kendo sits within the LVMH ecosystem, which can offer talent access to world-class luxury standards, resources, and cross-functional career paths.
The company is best known for creating and scaling brands such as Fenty Beauty, whose launch helped redefine industry expectations around shade inclusivity and speed-to-market innovation.
Kendo’s portfolio model means careers there often span product development, packaging, merchandising, retail strategy, and digital storytelling rather than a single narrowly defined luxury function.
Because Kendo builds brands from concept to global rollout, it tends to attract professionals who enjoy fast-paced, collaborative environments more akin to a high-growth startup than a traditional heritage house.
Its success in modern prestige beauty places it adjacent to parts of the wider Sephora and LVMH universe, making it especially appealing for candidates interested in the intersection of innovation, retail, and brand incubation.
