All applicants ought to know these basics about John Lobb before applying or interviewing for any role.

John Lobb began in 1866 as a bespoke bootmaker in London, and that heritage still gives the brand unusual credibility in craftsmanship-led roles.
The house operates with a rare dual identity: bespoke shoemaking in London alongside a Paris-based ready-to-wear business owned by Hermès.
For job seekers, John Lobb is notable for preserving hand-intensive shoemaking techniques while also running highly structured industrial production for its finished collections.
Its reputation is built on timeless men’s footwear rather than seasonal fashion cycles, which can appeal to candidates who prefer product depth and long-term craft over trend-driven merchandising.
Because it sits within the orbit of Hermès, careers at John Lobb can offer exposure to one of luxury’s most respected cultures of quality, patience, and artisanal excellence.
