All applicants ought to know these basics about Jil Sander before applying or interviewing for any role.

Founded in Hamburg in 1968 by Jil Sander, the house built its reputation on rigorous minimalism, making it especially appealing to candidates drawn to precision, restraint, and product-led design.
Jil Sander has long been admired for elevating clean tailoring and luxurious fabric development, so roles across design, merchandising, and product teams tend to reward an exacting eye for construction and material quality.
The brand sits within OTB Group, placing employees in a portfolio that also includes Maison Margiela, Marni, Diesel, and Viktor & Rolf.
Its identity has remained notably consistent even through multiple ownership and leadership changes, which signals a workplace culture where heritage codes and brand discipline matter deeply.
Under creative directors Lucie and Luke Meier, the label sharpened its blend of purity, craft, and modern emotion, broadening opportunities for talent interested in quietly innovative luxury rather than overt branding.
Because Jil Sander operates in a highly edited aesthetic space, many careers there demand thoughtful decision-making and taste-level clarity rather than trend-chasing or logo-driven commercialism.
